Winemaker Notes
Always intriguing and satisfying, the aromas that are displayed from this Zinfandel bring forth dark fruits, California raisins, forest undergrowth and the faint hint of exotic spice markets. The wine is generous and full bodied on the palate, yet still maintains a sense of balance, counteracting ripe fruit against precise acidity and fine grain tannins.
The wine is ready to drink now but will continue to develop well over the next 7 years of cellar aging.
- Robin Akhurst, Winemaker
Vineyard Notes
This limited-production, 12-barrel lot of Zinfandel was grown in the heart of the Napa Valley, on well drained mountain soils washed down from the hillsides. With excellent sun exposure and the best farming, the old vines in this vineyard have time to ripen fully, providing grapes of intense flavor and complexity.
